Petroleum engineer shot

PONCE Sauzeda, a petroleum engineer attached to Lennox Petroleum Limited of Western Main Road, Carenage is now listed in a critical condition at the St Clair Medical Centre after being shot in the stomach. According to reports, around 4 pm on Thursday Sauzeda, 57, a project coordinator who resides at 50 Goodwood Ridge, Goodwood Park was sitting in his office speaking to project engineer Alister Markham of Katie Freeway, Houston, Texas when two men entered asking for work.

Sauzeda, directed them to the employment office and they left. Five minutes later they returned, one of the men pulled out a gun from under his jersey and struck Markham in his head, and shouted “Hear what” and fired two shots at Sauzeda, one of which hit him in his stomach. The men then escaped in a waiting vehicle as Sauzeda slumped to the floor. The injured man was then rushed to St Clair Medical Centre where he underwent emergency surgery.
