Cariah leads Under-13 cricketers

YANNIC CARIAH has been named skipper of the national Under-13 cricketers for a series of matches against their touring counterparts from the Barbados National Sports Council. The young Bajans are scheduled to arrive here on December 8, and will play three one-day matches on December 11, 12 and 14, before playing a three-day fixture starting December 16. The 14-man squad named yesterday, has been asked to attend a special training session at the Sir Frank Worrell Development Centre, Balmain, Couva, tomorrow starting 3.30 pm. According to Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board administrative manager Rambhai Patel, Harry Lalla has been named manager and David Moffett will coach the national team.


Those called are: Yannick Cariah (capt), Khesan Ottley (vice-capt), Nicholas Alexis, Keiron Joseph, Derone Davis, Videsh Sookhai, Shazim Nagessar, Kristopher Ramsaran, Stephen Katwaroo, Sachen Boodram, Rickson Maniram, Evin Lewis, Rajiv Singh, Iraq Tomas.


The itinerary: December 9 —  BNSC XI vs North Zone.
December 11 —  1st one-day match — At Munroe Road.
December 12 —  2nd one-day match — At Inshan Ali Park.
December 14 —  3rd one-day match — At Gilbert Park.
December 16-18 —  three day match — At National Cricket Centre Ground.
