Selectors call 31 for Carib Beer Series
TRINIDAD and Tobago cricketers will begin preparing for the upcoming regional Carib Beer Series tournament on Tuesday (November 16). On that day the first training session for the 31 invited players will be staged at the National Cricket centre at Balmain Village, Couva. Yesterday the list of invitees was released to the media by Rambhai Patel, Administrative Manager of the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board. The line-up includes seven players selected by the West Indies Cricket Board for a three week training camp in preparation for the upcoming triangular series in Australia for which the regional team leaves on December 29.
Those seven players comprise West Indies captain Brian Lara, Trinidad and Tobago skipper Daren Ganga, Sherwin Ganga, Dwayne Bravo, Ricardo Powell, Dinesh Ramdin and Mervyn Dillon. Trinidad and Tobago recently won the President’s Cup at stake in the regional limited overs competition. The other players called are: Tishan Maraj, Gregory Mahabir, Earnil Ryan, Rodney Sooklal, Gibran Mohammed, Reyad Emrit, Jonathan Augustus, Avalon Cuffy, Imran Khan, Dave Mohammed, Kenton Thompson, Theodore Modeste, William Perkins, Lendl Simmons, Shazam Babwah, Amit Jaggernauth, Samuel Badree, Richard Kelly, Ravi Rampaul, Aneil Kanhai, Sanjeev Gooljar, Rishi Bachan, Samuel Feliz and Kyron Lynch.
