Thanks a million for the help
THE EDITOR: The raison d’etre of this letter is to profusely proffer gratitude and laudation to the gentlemen who so altruistically assisted me on the morning of Monday, November 22, 2004. I was on my way to work, via my usual route on the Rochard Douglas Road, Barrackpore, when I swerved to avoid one pothole only to plummet into another which punctured, and rendered irreparable, the right front tyre of my car. The gentlemen who were awaiting transport to work under a shed not too far from Kanhai South Trace Junction, Rochard Douglas Road, Barrackpore all contributed to putting on my spare tyre speedily enough to allow me to reach to work on time.
Kudos, too, to some of them who directed traffic; offered the use of their cell phones and car jacks; or lent the solace that I was not unique in having fallen prey to the abysmal potholes. At the same time, also, please permit me the opportunity to appeal for the fixing of the Rochard Douglas Road, Barrackpore; indeed, all the roads of Barrackpore which have, heretofore, been neglected. Nonetheless, it is said that “every dark cloud has a silver lining.” And thus it is that, even as I agonisingly dole out the three hundred odd dollars for a new tyre, I can also bask, with superlative pleasure, in the philanthropy of those gentlemen from Kanhai South Trace Junction, Rochard Douglas Road, Barrackpore.
Again, thanks a million, guys!
