BWIA says sorry

Passengers aboard BWIA flight 429 bound for Piarco had to be de-planed and transported to the Jolly Beach Hotel in Antigua on Thursday, due to the airline’s delayed departure from JFK, New York which prevented BW429 from landing in time before the closure of Piarco International Airport at 10.30 pm. According to a release, BWIA West Indies Airways informed that BW429 departed JFK at 4.09 pm later than scheduled due to high winds and inclement weather. This flight was destined to Piarco with an immediate stop in Antigua.


The flight arrived at Vere Bird International Airport, Antigua at 9.32 pm. The flight’s departure at 8.30 am on Friday, December 3 from Vere Bird International Airport was again delayed due to catering, BWIA said. However, the flight left for Piarco at 12.02 pm and arrived at 1.20 pm. BWIA regrets any inconvenience caused to passengers and apologises for this service interruption. The airline has further assured that it values the business and support of its loyal customers and is grateful for the public’s continued patronage.
