Cop’s son arrested

The 19-year-old son of a police sergeant attached to a police station in Port-of-Spain was arrested in connection with a number of robberies in the San Juan area. The man was held during an exercise by members of the north-eastern task force under Cpl Darrel La Pierre and included PCs Kevin Reyes, Merric Mundoo and Keston Acres. The man was placed on an identification parade yesterday and positively identified in a robbery. He was charged with that offence by WPC Tricia Goopiecharan and is expected to appear in court on Monday.
