DEAL WITH LAWLESS STREAKERS

If black entertainers can be charged for cussing, and poor black girls arrested for stripping at nightclubs, why can’t a white woman be arrested for streaking? Decent citizens must stand up against this scandalous growing practice perpetrated by twisted sickos.

On Tuesday December 7, the front page of a daily newspaper carried a full-colour picture portraying a completely naked woman running across the St Mary’s ground in St Clair, Port-of-Spain. At first glance, I thought the streaker was a mentally challenged person, or perhaps a shot from some kind of crazy demonstration scene abroad. Upon closer examination, however, however, I realised that she was a white member of a visiting English rugby team who was carrying out her abhorrent act on our soil, last Sunday. Apart from the shamelessness of the foreigner’s behaviour, the impunity and blatant contempt with which she broke the law, certainly raises deep concerns.

We have ordinary black men being arrested and hauled before our courts for “peeing” in public and similar charges of indecent exposure. We also have black entertainers (foreign and local) who are dragged off the stage and charged for using obscene language. Poor black girls are arrested for strip dancing at nightclubs. But here is a pink-skinned and blue-eyed English blonde stark naked in broad daylight, running in full view of the public — children and all — and the only thing that happens to her is that she receives national (and to an extent, international) “fame” via “media prominence.” Its not that I am saying that the law enforcement agencies have done anything wrong by taking decisive action against the black folks who violated the law. Certainly not. In fact, this column is on record as emphatically commending the police for such actions. I am merely ventilating sentiments which I have heard from many disturbed people since the appalling streaking spectacle made the news on Tuesday. These are, incidentally, views which resonate with mine.

Its clear that some of these foreigners (and I am not xenophobic) seem to take us for granted in their haste to impose their squalid practices, lifestyles and sub-cultures upon us. And to be honest, we sometimes do wonder if the lighter skin complexion is indeed a qualification for special treatment or immunity? Some years ago, another white female fan of a visiting cricket team stripped naked and ran across the field during a cricket match at the Queen’s Park Oval. This was done in the full view of the large crowds present, including many children; Again, all this pink-skinned, blue-eyed tourist got for her disgusting, flagrant violation of the law was a lusty round of applause from the group of fellow tourists in the stands, and naturally, wide publicity. Absolutely no legal sanctions. What does such repulsive conduct say to our children and youth population, many of whom we are currently struggling to convince that modest, descent attire is okay?

It is a burning shame and the height of repugnance to have adults engaging in this kind of scandalous conduct in public. These twisted sickos, along with being complete strangers to shame and decency, simply care nothing about the benefits of virtuous value-systems for our people. They are obsessed with the malignant philosophy of culprits like Playboy’s Hugh Hefner and they could not care less about the victims of their abominable crusade and the resultant bewitching curses which afflict society. Evidently, the occasional “unusually shocking” displays from these perverse elements, are all part of a sinister strategy aimed at testing the tolerance level of the wider society. They want to get a pulse of how willing we are to tolerate the sewer substance which they attempted to splash in our faces and force down the throats of children. It has been part of the loathsome schemes of nefarious clans for ages.

Hollywood has been pushing hard with it for long years. The “gay community,” the abortion monsters with their pro-death agenda, the porn industry and the narcotics demons are a few of those who keep relentlessly testing the tolerance level of decent, godly people in societies such as ours. Our nation is well in the midst of a struggle to keep its head above the swelling floods of immorality, promiscuity and licentiousness. The Church, the Government, certain media initiatives and several other noble organisations and individuals are desperately employing efforts and strategies in an attempt to thwart the evil and instil the good. We must therefore stand up with zero tolerance to brazen and shameless intruders who come to steal, kill and destroy. If some of them do not like clothes, they perhaps may well be advised to join the animal kingdom, where there are no rules for wearing clothes. Sorry if I offend you, Miss/Mr Streaker, but too much damage is done to society by people devoid of common decency. Neverthe-less, if you are willing to humbly acknowledge your wrong and sincerely repent by permanently denouncing your wicked ways, God will forgive and embrace you. Christ is the cure for the curse.
