Man drowns in Navet Dam

JUST after taking household items to his new home at Williamsville, 22-year-old Adrian Doodnath decided to take a swim with five of his friends in the Navet Dam. He drowned without spending a night in his new home. According to a police report, Doodnath and his friends went to the dam around 5.55 pm at Mango Road, Tabaquite. He was accompanied by his older brother, Renee, 32, of Penal Rock Road, and four others.

According to the report, Doodnath got into difficulties while swimming and sank beneath the surface of the water. The report stated that his friends made several attempts to find him before they notified the Gran Couva police. Doodnath’s friends and several Tabaquite residents yesterday searched the dam, and found the body at around 8.45 am. Cpl Satnarine is continuing investigations.
