PM misses engagements

Prime Minister Patrick Manning is down with the flu. He spent yesterday at home in bed, missing all his engagements. Whitehall sources said there was no cause for alarm as the Prime Minister merely caught the virus that is going around. “Even though he is Prime Minister, he is human after all and would come down every now and then with the flu,” one source stated. Manning, who was carded to give the keynote address at the Caribbean Energy Conference at the Hilton Trinidad, missed the conference. He was also absent from the NUGFW’s launch of its housing project.
