‘Bear your cross and leave we cross’

THE EDITOR: Let us rationalise and put things in its proper perspective. Firstly, the Trinity Cross is not awarded on the premise of race, religion or culture so the figures of only eight Indians being awarded and two being Hindu does not factor in this issue. Anand, Sat and company take note. It is awarded on merit and recognition based on recommendation by citizens to a committee in particular areas of sports, national service, gallantry and contributions in the national community.

So I strongly see this frivolous and vexatious action being thrown head first from the court. I would only support the renaming of the Trinity Cross if Sat, Anand and their kind forfeit “Indian Arrival Day” and replace it with “National Heritage Day” so all races of our rainbow country can be recognised for their contribution. The Trinity Cross must not be replaced at the whim and fancy of any fundamentalist and separatist group for their own selfish interest as what is happening now. Also Panday must remove that Hindu stone symbol at the PM’s residence he left behind which he dared the Prime Minister to touch. Let us start levelling the playing field if you all like playing games. Your minds are too preoccupied with race and politics hence your ideologically warped thinking on matters of national issues. Get thee hence you men of hate and jealousy with your wicked intentions. The changing of the Trinity Cross does not automatically mean that more Indians or Hindus would be awarded, since, to do so would be seen as a compromise and place the merits or demerits of the award in a facetious, false and fictitious mode.

Lord Kitchener (deceased) some years ago was wrong to think or believe that he deserved the Trinity Cross; it is now how you feel about yourself it is how people feel about you. Nobody owes anyone an award; it is just a gesture of appreciation in good faith where a token is given in recognition. It is not cast in stone but is only perceived in the minds of mortal men with differing views. Even selfish men and women like you would believe you deserve an award for your work among your kind for pushing such mischievous agendas, say what! That’s just your own ego talking to you, don’t listen. Just try to be a decent citizen in the land of your birth and cleanse your tongue and heart of all your human misdeeds. Nuff said.
