Not for hire? Then move on!

THE EDITOR: I wish that you will find it necessary to publish this letter with the objective of letting taxi drivers plying the San Fernando Port-of-Spain route know that they should not park in the taxi stand when they are not for “hire.” It is illegal to do so and for that they can be charged by police officers. Some of those taxi drivers have their regular passengers so they park on the “stand” waiting for them. So that when a commuter asks: “San Fernando driver” he says, “no.” well! what are you doing on the stand? Come on police officers — charge them if they are parked on the “stand” and are not for hire.
