Light a candle to a child

THE EDITOR: The entire Jordan Hill Presbyterian School community must be complimented for its successful planning and hosting of a massive “Curry Q” that was held on October 6. Never before have I seen such coming together of parents, teachers, past pupils, the business community and well-wishers, uniting in an effort, in order to raise funds to provide computers for our students.

The event brought out the generosity and team spirit of all involved, which eventually flowed to the wider community. Such collaboration and cohesiveness amongst the stakeholders is a positive seed being ploughed into the lives of our children. Our schools, communities and country would certainly reap bountifully if we take a page out of Jordan Hill’s book. Hats off, to all those who contributed. You have lit a candle in a child. May this flame be kindled as Jordan Hill Presbyterian leads the way.
