$90,000 windball cricket finale

OVER $90,000 prize money will be distributed tomorrow when the curtain comes down on the 2004 season in the Don Miguel Sports League Intra Regional Windball Cricket Series. Arcade Boys “A” take on Samba Boys in the men final at St George’s College Ground, Sixth Avenue, Barataria, from 3 pm with $15,000, challenge trophy and 18 gold medals.   Runners-up get $8,000. But before this, the women will take the field in their final from 12.30 pm, when Desert United meet either Crab Con-nection or Die Hard. There were 40 teams vying for honours in the series which was jointly hosted by the Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Local Government and the San Juan/Laventille Regional Corporation.

A $4,000 prize, trophy  and 18 bronze medals will go to the third place finishers, while the fourth-place team get  $2,000 and a trophy. Teams finishing from fifth to eighth will each take home $500, while all group winners will get $800, $400 and $300 respectively. There are also prizes for the Best Disciplined team (overall); Best Disciplined team in each group; Man of the Match (final); Best Uniformed team; Most Runs in the first round; Most Runs in a match; Most Wickets in the first round; Most Wickets in a match; First hat-trick; First 50; First 100; First five-wicket haul; Best All-round Player; and the Best scorer.
