Security guards tied up, robbed by teen bandits

TWO security guards spent the night handcuffed in a classroom at the Williamsville Junior Secondary School after they were beaten and robbed by three teenagers. The MTS guards were found by another officer who came to relieve them of that shift on Monday morning. Police believe pupils of the school were involved in the incident.

According to reports, around 9 pm on Sunday, estate constables Alleyne Karim, 20 and Garvin Seepersad, 34, were on duty in the guard booth in front of the school, when three young men accosted them. Seepersad was struck on his head with a piece of iron and robbed of a gold chain and watch valued $900, and Karim was robbed of $200. The young bandits then took the security guards’ handcuffs and led them to a classroom where they handcuffed them to burglar proofing. PC Sookoo of the Princes Town Police Station is continuing investigations.
