Stop interfering, Mr Manning

THE EDITOR: So the PM is not happy screwing up the lives of all TT and failing to provide the promised social services that were laid out in his manifesto, but considers it necessary to reorganise the Roman Catholic Church, by firstly appointing a TT national as Archbishop whether there is one qualified to do the job or not does not matter. Talk about following in the footsteps of the “father of the nation, Eric Williams” who was not happy with anything that his predecessors left behind so he decided to change everything. It mattered not whether it needed fixing; or was not broken, change it.

Hence the absolute political mess and authoritative stand still that our present Constitution has created. The best local minds in the country, HOB Wooding, Ellis Clarke to name just two, were not good enough because they did not write what he wanted them to write in the new Republican Constitution, they did what they thought was best for the nation. So he uses Eric “Useless” Williams who wrote the one we have today, along with the chaos that it has caused. Why can our elected officials concentrate on solving the traffic problems, crime situation, squatting plague, deforestation, corruption in public life to name but a few. Why can our political hierarchy concentrate on doing the job that they were elected to do and stop interfering in what does not concern them?
