Draper estate worth $.75M
FORMER PNM Government Minister Gordon Draper, who died in August last year, has left an estate valued at over $700,000. His wife Chela Bocas-Draper has applied to the court for a grant to administer her husband’s estate. Draper, who was a lecturer at the University of the West Indies was also a government minister under the PNM in 1995 in charge of Public Administration. He died on August 12, 2004, at age 55, at St Mary’s Hospital in London.
According to documents filed in the registry of the High Court, Draper’s estate consisted of two parcels of land, insurance policies, a car and a bank account in London. One parcel of land situated in Woodbrook is valued at $320,000, while the other parcel of land with a house, which is situated on Queen’s Street, Arima was valued at $260,000. Insurance policies amounted to $129,884.05 while his Mazda car was valued at $36,000. His meagre London Bank account amounted to TT$10,232.60.
