DAC: PNM will make you cry blood
JUDY BOBB, the Democratic Action Congress (DAC) candidate for the Scarborough/ Calder Hall District, yesterday warned that Tobagonians would “cry blood” if they put the ruling PNM back in power in the January 17 Tobago House of Assembly (THA) election. Bobb, a former National Alliance for Reconstruc-tion (NAR) Assembly woman and Secretary of Health in the previous Hochoy Charles-lead NAR Assembly (1996 to 2000), was addressing a small turnout of party members and supporters during a DAC public meeting at Roxborough in East Tobago, at which team DAC 2005 candidates for the upcoming THA polls were presented to the public.
Bobb charged that the PNM administration had done “nothing in health for the last four years.” “More money, more power, but no results,” is how Bobb described the stewardship of the ruling PNM. “Very soon, if you vote for the PNM, we will cry blood out of our eyes here in Tobago. Put them back for another four years and let them finish mash up Tobago,” she warned the small audience. Alluding to the ruling party’s slogan “We are on course,” Bobb said “they definitely not on the course we want them to go.”
She urged, “Make sure and sit down and think about what you want for the future of Tobago. It’s not just being a fanatic; compare the Hochoy Charles administration of 1996 to 2000 with what has transpired for the last four years. Meanwhile, Stanley Beard a senior member of the party declared “from January 17, we must be back on track with DAC. We need to put Tobago back on course.” DAC’s candidate for Providence/Mason Hall/ Moriah, Ashworth Jack said that the ruling PNM “was on course with backwardness.” “The only way you could vote for PNM is if you drunk,” Jack declared.
