Another youth in court for teen’s murder
20-YEAR-OLD Kimble Lazarus of Covigne Road, Diego Martin appeared before Chief Magistrate Sherman Mc Nicolls in the Port-of-Spain Magistrates’ Court yesterday charged with the murder of Stellon Davis, 16. Lazarus is the second person to appear before a magistrate to answer the charge of murdering Davis. On Monday December 20, Stephen Emery, 17, made his first appearance in court on the murder charge.
Emery will reappear in court tomorrow while Lazarus will reappear on January 13. The charge against the two states that sometime between December 12 and 15, Emery and Lazarus murdered Davis of Palm Avenue, Petit Valley. Davis’ bound and gagged body was found in a shallow grave in a bamboo track off Covigne Road. Both accused will remain behind bars — Emery at the Youth Training Centre in Arouca and Lazarus at Remand Yard — as the charge of murder is a capital offence, that does not allow for bail.
