We have a tsunami government

THE EDITOR: When I watch the horrors of the tsunami on television I am left speechless. When I see the number of bodies found and the number of homes, villages, towns and cities removed from the face of this earth I am unable to relate with such catastrophe. As a Christian I was taught that while you would mourn the loss of a loved one there is that comforting feeling that he/she has gone to paradise having lived a Christian’s life, but the disaster of the Asian tsunami brings a different feeling.

It is one of gloom and hopelessness. We in Trinidad and Tobago always say that we are a blessed nation and God is Trini but that tsumani has shown me that we are not all that blessed. We have not had any tsumani associated with water raging at over 800 kmph and waves over 30 metres high but we have a tsunami PNM. We have a tsunami PNM that always brings disaster, death and destruction. Since the Prime Minister’s closed door five star hotel meeting with seasoned criminal elements a wave of crime has been sweeping this nation. We have seen over 20,000 persons losing their jobs so far.

With that alone over 100,000 persons’ lives have been affected with thousands losing their homes, valuables, wives and children. With this tsunami PNM we have seen and continue to see contracts given out to chosen ones rise higher than the Asian tsumani waves. Tobago hospital, the Airport farce and CEPEP are just three small examples. We have seen teacups, remote control and fists fly pass faster than 800 kmph. We are given warning signs that this Tsunami PNM has more harm and destruction being prepared. Workers at NBN, Piarco airport, WASA, PATT, Petrotrin have been forewarned. The tsunami PNM is receding right now to hit Tobago in January a harder blow it gave over the last four years.
