TTT show starts late — workers lack enthusiasm

FOUR more days before the National Broadcasting Network (NBN) closes its doors and some staffers have begun to feel the emotional toll as they could not muster the strength to report for work yesterday. The employees’ lack of enthusiasm resulted in the late start of the morning programme on TTT TandT This Morning. The show which usually starts at 6 am did not get underway until after 7 am. President of the Electronic Media Union of Trinidad and Tobago (EMUTT), Edward Camps, told Newsday yesterday the employees’ action which resulted in the show starting late, was not “mischievous,” but rather a result of “their lack of enthusiasm.”

He explained that some of the employees reported for work late. He linked their mood to the company’s closure on Friday. As for TTT being off-air on Saturday afternoon, Camps said there may have been a problem with the transmitter. Meanwhile, staff are still in the dark as to whether the transmitter will actually be switched off on Friday. And how will the last day be spent on the job? Sources said some staffers are planning to have a party on the Maraval Road compound, but it is left to be seen if it will materialise. For certain, it will be an emotional day as the live on-air staff bid farewell to their audience.
