Rangel & trio scramble to golf victory
PROFESSIONAL golfer Rene Rangel and the amateur threesome of Mitra Chirkootsingh, Barry Davis and Chris Galt, representing Ernst and Young, scored 61 as they clinched the Texas Scramble competition yesterday. The contest was part of the week-long bpTT Charity Pro Am Golf Tournament at the St Andrew’s Golf Course, Moka, Maraval.
The runners-up spot was shared by the quartets of Atlantic LNG No 1s — S Marquez, A Maingot, T Brooks and pro Craig Ronald and the Global Santa Fe-Rig Constel-lation One foursome of Bill Coombs, Sid Bolton, Eamon Condon and pro Jesse Fitzgerald. Both groups ended the day-long event with tallies of 62 apiece. Lee Vannet and the amateur trio of Rodney Masters, Troy McGinty and Harry Stauble of HJ Stauble/ Aims finished fourth with 63 followed by Ricky Lyons and amateurs Kenrick Jagroop, Doug Neefe and Carl Isaacs of Baroid Trinidad Services Limited No 1 with 64. Sixth place went to Pete Watson, John Morrison, Pete Lumsden and pro Bruce Davidson, representing bpTT Kapok, with 65. The highlight of the Charity Week would be the two-day Pro Am event, which tees off today at 7.30 am.
