Leave Graham alone

SAN FERNANDO Business Association (SBA) president Daphne Bartlett has called on Commissioner of Police, Trevor Paul, to reconsider Assistant Commissioner of Police Dennis Graham’s transfer from South/Central Division. There had been a marked decrease in the level of crime in the southern city, Bartlett said, since Graham became the top sleuth in South Trinidad “All of our members are extremely happy with the steps taken by Mr Graham to reduce the levels of crime throughout the entire southern division,” the SBA president told Newsday yesterday.

“And we are calling, if at all possible, for Mr Graham to remain in his position as the head of the South/Central Division,” she stated. Graham has been instructed to assume duties at the Eastern Division from February 1.  He has vowed to take legal action if his attorney is of the opinion that the transfer was illegal. Yesterday, a man stood in front the San Fernando Police Station with a placard to protest Graham’s transfer.
