South schoolgirls in afternoon fight

POLICE had to be called out yesterday to part a fight between two schoolgirls at Carlton Centre, San Fernando. About 20 school pupils from two secondary schools in Marabella and San Fernando, formed a circle around the two feisty girls who first engaged themselves in a shouting match around mid-afternoon. The verbal exchange resulted in one of the girls slapping the other. A fight ensued between them with both pulling and tugging at each other’s uniform.

The noisy fracas drew the attention of passersby.  There were screams from the pupils, the majority of whom were female. Employees from businessplaces came out of their stores and stood in amazement as the fight continued. When policemen arrived, the schoolgirls dispersed in a rush. Two uniform policemen issued strict warnings to the schoolgirls and within seconds, had them marching off to their respective taxi and maxi stands.
