‘Skippy’ skips out of THA race

BARRINGTON “SKIPPY” Thomas, candidate for Lambeau/Signal Hill in tomorrow’s Tobago House of Assembly (THA) election, pulled out of the race at the “eleventh hour” yesterday. The Tobago UNC activist was one of four independents contesting the THA poll. Thomas, who was recently ordained as a Deacon of the Mt Paran Perseverance Spiritual Baptist Church at Bethel, told Sunday Newsday his decision was a spiritual one.

“Things were not going good. I find that everything was just going wrong, and I came to the decision after something this morning (Saturday). In fact, I am on my way to the EBC office now,” he said. The EBC Office in Scarborough confirmed Thomas’ withdrawal from the election.
