Thieves run away with TT’s London diplomat computer

THIS COUNTRY’S High Commis-sioner to London Glenda Morean Philip lost a quantity of documents, a lap top computer and video camera, which were in a car belonging to a friend at the Hi-Lo car park in Maraval yesterday. Morean Philip, accompanied by a friend, Ted Joseph,  went to the supermarket around 1.30 pm yesterday. Joseph parked his blue Honda Civic in the car park and they went into the supermarket. When they returned at around 2 pm, Joseph discovered the door on the driver’s side open.

Morean made a check and discovered a video camera valued at 300 pounds sterling, a lap top computer valued $12,000, belonging to the Trinidad and Tobago Government and a quantity of documents missing. A report was made to Kenneth Reyes, a manager at Hi-Lo. Morean Phillip later made a report to the St Clair Police Station and Ag Sgt Ajith Persad and Cpl Balliram Mahabir visited the scene and carried out enquiries. Fingerprint experts check-ed the car for prints. Hi-Lo yesterday said they had also launched an investigation.
