Mark: PNM’s THA landslide ‘a hollow victory’

Government’s overwhelming victory in the THA election has been described as a “hollow victory” by UNC Senator Wade Mark. Speaking the Senate yesterday, Mark said less than 35 per cent of the Tobago electorate had voted in the THA election and therefore the majority of Tobagonians had rejected the PNM. “Don’t allow Tobago to fool you — Trinidadians are a different kettle of fish,” he said. He chided the Prime Minister for “abandoning office” and going to Tobago to compaign. “They bring down from captain to cook (to Tobago)” he said, adding that panic had set in the PNM camp in run-up to the election.
