Stop this Carnival fete

THE EDITOR: We, the residents of Bayshore, over fifty-four in total, have written to the Commissioner of Police, the Chairman of the EMA and Dr Keith Rowley requesting that the “Discover Atlantis” public fete on Carnival Saturday be stopped. We urge the sponsors, Angostura, Blue Waters, Pepsi, Carlsberg, CLICO and Simpaul Travel to support our cause and withdraw their sponsorship. This fete, the second of multiple, is being held in a residential area, #31 Sunset Drive, Bayshore, the parking in this area barely serves the needs of the residents and therefore cannot accommodate such a large public fete.

This residence is now the office of Nauti Crew Ltd, which is a Promotional/Event Management company. This company has as its Directors Mr Daryan Warner and Mr Daryll Warner, sons of Mr Jack Warner, who are also owners of the property. This residence has now been converted to an “event” site. We publicly urge Messrs Warner and company to kindly consider the residents of this area and move their public fete to a more suitable location. The western peninsula is home to many venues that are environmentally friendly (ie not in a residential area) and have adequate parking and significant space. We thank the newspapers, the EMA and the police for supporting us in trying to protect our neighbourhood.
