No squabbling in church
THE EDITOR: I would like to share some views on a matter that has been bothering me for quite some time now. Why is there no peace among members at church? I ask myself that question when I come face to face with the matter. I attend a church at Arima where there is a lot of tugging and quarrelling among older members of the congregation. I think it is very disgraceful because they are not setting any example for our little ones, neither are they obeying the words of the bible. I observed that people quarrel to do things at church so now I am pleading to these people to stop volunteering if you know you have a tight schedule.
And if you do volunteer please don’t talk about it. Another thing that I noticed is that people do things just to be given praise by other people and for incorrect reasons. Why must it be like that? To my knowledge when you volunteer for eg Sunday school, you do it because you like doing it and you would be sharing God’s words with people. Not, for the praise of other people. The only person that should be praising you is God. So the main suggestion is to make peace and love one another. Coming to church isn’t a house of fame nor is it a battlefield. It’s coming to hear the word of the Lord, which should be the main purpose that you attend.
