P/Town bowler takes 5/0

LEFT-ARM unorthodox spinner Dane Teelucksingh snapped up five wickets for no runs as Princes Town scored the only outright victory of the first round of this year’s PowerGen Secondary Schools Cricket League over ASJA Boys. Teelucksingh returned the startling figures of 10-10-0-5. After Princes Town posted 166 with Lyndon Luke scoring 33, Mark Gangapersad 24 and Teelucksingh 24, the ASJA lads had no answer for the spinner’s turn and were routed for a paltry 48.

ASJA did slightly better when forced to follow-on, reaching 69 in their second innings, this time Daniel St Clair was the chief wicket-taker with three for 15.  Teelucksingh took two for 20. Defending champions Presentation, Chaguanas, had to make do with first innings points over Barrackpore. First they bowled out Barrackpore for 93 and replied with 122 for eight wickets declared, but the home team held on for a draw, reaching 107 in their second knock.
