CUC ‘lock down’ still exists
THE EDITOR: You recently ran an article called “CUC denies Carnival ‘lock down’ policy” where the administration of the college denied having a Carnival lock down policy. As someone who has previously attended this institution, I can from personal experience confirm that there has been a lock down policy in place in the past where only in cases of emergency was “permission” granted to dorm students to leave campus even to go to Curepe or closer.
I have also in my possession (though its authenticity cannot be verified) that this policy still exists, a practice I believe to be unconstitutional as it seeks to deny the constitutional right to freedom of movement.
