Sunday League champs advance

JOINT DEFENDING champions PowerGen and Alescon Comet advanced to the Carib Sunday League cricket quarter-finals following the seventh and final round robin matches on Sunday. Guyanese Vishal Arjune hit 101 to pilot the PowerGen to a 64-run win over Invaders Sports at their Syne Village ground while Comet made it through despite their five-wicket loss to Queen’s Park at Pierre Road, Charlieville. W-Connection Wanderers and Queen’s Park finished the round robin phase of the  competition with an unbeaten record as they secured their berths in the quarters-finals. Tile It Central Sports, Ceramic Merry Boys, FCB Clarke Road and Mayo Valley Boys are the other four qualifiers.
