Sisters top schools splash
TOP Trinidad and Tobago swimmers Ayeisha and Kimba Collymore finished one-two in the 15-and-over female category as the Amateur Swimming Association of Trinidad and Tobago (ASATT) held their Secondary School Swim Meet. The schools competed at the Dr Joao Havelange Centre of Excellence Swim Pool in Macoya, Tunapuna on Sunday. Ayeisha amassed 36 points after the day-long event, with younger sister Kimba ten points adrift while Shannon Duval of Holy Name Convent placed third with 21. Stuart Gillette, representing St Mary’s College, cruised to victory in the 15-and-over male section with 36 points, ten ahead of Vincent Tardieu of Trinity College, Moka while QRC’s Jules Graham finished third with 22.
In the 13-14 age group, Walter Romany of St Mary’s took home the top prize in the male category with a 26-point tally, ahead of Derron Samlalsingh of Holy Cross (22) and Anthony Edwards of Trinity College East, Trincity (21), while Quitara La Guerre copped the 13-14 female division with 29 points. The Bishop Anstey East, Trincity student was ahead of Raenelle Carillo of Tunapuna Secondary (23) and Bishop Anstey Port-of-Spain’s Chloe McMillan (21). Presentation San Fernando’s Cadell Lyons (33) and Christian Homer (30) were one-two in the 12-and-under male, with Osei Phillip of Fatima (23) third.
Similarly, in the female version, Holy Name Convent’s Shanice Mohammed (32) and Kelcie Ferreira (29) took the first two places while Nayano Sookoo of St Joseph’s Convent, St Joseph (24) next. In the schools’ category, St Mary’s topped the male category with 329 points, followed by Fatima (283), Trinity College East (157), Hillview (114), QRC (91), St Anthony’s (91), Presentation San Fernando (86.5), Holy Cross (33), Trinity College Moka (26), St Stephen’s (8) and Belmont Boys (6). Holy Name Convent emerged victorious in the female division with 291, ahead of Bishop Anstey Port-of-Spain (210), Bishop Anstey East (129.5), St Joseph Convent, St Joseph’s (115), St Joseph’s Convent, San Fernando (109), Providence (97), Naparima (21) and St Charles (14).
St Joseph’s College, St Joseph was unchallenged in the co-educational department, with a whopping 288.5 points, with St Augustine Senior (68), St George’s (31), South East Port-of-Spain (30.5), Tunapuna Secondary (24), Diego Martin Secondary (23), San Fernando East (12), Arima Secondary (9), St Augustine Community College (9), Woodbrook Secondary (8), El Dorado Secondary (7), Southern Academy, La Romaine (3) and San Fernando Secondary (2) trailing. There were other prizes on offer, with St Mary’s adjudged the top North school, St Joseph’s Convent, San Fernando — the top South school, Trinity College East — the top East school, San Fernando East — the top junior secondary and St Augustine Senior — the top senior comprehensive.
