Levine overtakes Gonsalves
TREVOR LEVINE, with a score of two-under-par 70 yesterday, climbed to the top of the pack on the penultimate day of the 98th annual Trinidad and Tobago Golf Open, at the St Andrew’s Golf Course, Moka, Maraval. The St Kitts’ golfer, vying for back-to-back titles, will begin today’s final round on 209, two shots ahead of early pace-setter Dion Gonsalves, who had a terrible round of 75, and five-time winner Carlos “Sexy” Baynes, who has improved in every session and carded 69 yesterday.
Ben Martin (76) is a distant fourth with 218, with fellow junior Simon Merry (74) fifth with 220 and Mitchum Jasper (73) sixth with 221. The top four spots in the Seniors category remains unchanged, with Arjoon Samlal (74) on 222, Edward “Teddy Grell (75) on 225, Tyrone Leong (76) on 229 and Ray Roberts (76) on 230. Pat Suraj jumped to the top of the Super Seniors with 232 after shooting 77 yesterday. Overnight leader Peter Hale (80) is second with 233 and Narine Sooknanan (79) third with 234.
