Archbishop’s new god

THE EDITOR: To all devout Roman Catholics your Archbishop is now praying to a new god, God Patrick Manning. Are you going to play “Follow the leader” and start sucking up to Prime Minister Patrick Manning too? Ms Leela Ramdeen, a true and loyal defender of the Archbishop has been “stabbed” not only in the back but in the heart with the twisting and turning of the knife of unwarranted apology by the same Archbishop on whose side she normally stands like a knight in shining armour, ready to do “battle” on his behalf.

Ms Ramdeen’s statement was neither divisive nor racial. It was plainly factual, showing the perception at grass roots level right up the ladder and the consequential dangers involved. She was “spat upon” twice by Archbishop Gilbert. First, when he found it necessary to apologise, publicly and I believe in writing for heaven knows what since there was absolutely nothing in Ms Ramdeen’s statement that warranted an apology and second, when he twisted the knife in her already bleeding heart by appeasing his new God Prime Minister Patrick Manning at a news conference with his God at his side. Leela Ramdeen did not err, as Prime Minister Manning and his new sidekick stated, but simply stated conscientiously the facts that such a course of action being taken by the Prime Minister could and would be dangerous and lead to a divisiveness of the country later on.
