Siloch’s century helps Clarke Rd win thriller
A BRILLIANT unbeaten 138 by Sean Siloch, his maiden Division I century, enabled defending champion FCB Clarke Road supporters to enjoy double celebration at their Wilson Road ground yesterday. Clarke Road registered an exciting nine-wicket victory with seven balls remaining in the day’s play against Tile It Central Sports.
The hard-fought victory, which was sealed by Homchand Pooran’s flick for four, sparked wild celebrations. The Clarke Road men were set a modest victory target of 21 runs off six overs and they achieved victory racing to 24 for one after 4.5 overs. Siloch, 22, batted for 287 minutes and smashed one six and 12 fours off 194 deliveries, and allowed skipper Mahadeo Bodoe to declared his team’s first innings closed at 251 for two wickets. Batting a second tie, Tile It Central Sport who scored 119 in their first innings, were bowled out for 152. Clarke Road supporters earlier celebrated Gregory Mahabir’s maiden Carib Beer Series century in Montserrat.
