Equestrians aim to improve

TRINIDAD and Tobago led by Margaret Auerbach are hoping to improve on their third place showing last year at this year’s 24th Federation Equestre Internationale World Dressage Challenge. Although the national equestrian quartet has not been announced, the experienced Margaret Auerbach is expected to be astride Fantastic 13 at the teeth of the action which takes place at Police Mounted Branch, Long Circular Road, from 1.45 pm on Saturday. Others expected to make up the team are Rebecca Mazely riding Hot Risk, Sarah Looger and Baldadi and Patrice Stollmeyer aboard Cartier IV.


Also in contention for selection are Luisa Chapman riding Storm Jumper in the Novice “B” category, Anna Lisa de Lima on Dream Weaver; Kate Steenson astride Scrum Down; Shari Haynes with Santana; Cashell Watson on Majestic Seven; Christina Rostant with Francisco and Kyna Thompson astride Xante. Challenges to Trinidad and Tobago will come from riders from Barbados, Jamaica, Antigua, Dominican Republic and Bermuda. International judges Victorie Mandl Of Holland, now living in Austria and Kari Launo of Finland will conduct Saturday’s competitions.
