Ottley leads Under-15 cricketers

AFTER an absence of two years, the regional Under-15 cricket tournament returns to Trinidad and Tobago. The six regional territories are expected to compete for top honours in the competition which has yet to secure a sponsor, according to a reliable source. Trinidad and Tobago hosted the championships in 2000, 2001 and 2003. This country’s team will be led by Kjorn Ottley in the competition from March 29 to April 9. Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board administrative manager Rambhai Patel said yesterday that Ottley will have as his deputy Adrian Barath.


The 14-member team was announced yesterday, with Nicholas Rampersad and Amir Ali as standbys. The squad is : Kjorn Ottley (capt), Adrian Barath (vice-capt), Nicholas Alexis, Javed Boodram, Aaron Alfred, Stefan Kallie, Yannic Cariah, Marc Evin Moffett, Marlon Briceno, Vaaroon Samaroo, Kareem Jumadeen, Akeem Mohammed, Isaac Nicholas, Ako George. Manager is William Wallace of Carapichaima Senior and Dasrath Maharaj of St Mary’s College is the coach.
