Wanderers, Comet, PowerGen in ‘semis’
W-Connection Wanderers yesterday defeated FCB Clarke Road United by 53 runs to advance to the semi-finals of the Carib Shield midweek limited cricket overs competition. Despite the fighting undefeated knock of 54 by Homechand Pooran, aided by Alon Mahabir (46) and Raynard Sankersingh (35), Clarke Road were restricted to 174 for five, chasing Wanderers’ total of 227 for seven. Also qualifying for the last four yesterday were Alescon Comet and PowerGen Sports who both won their matches yesterday against Ceramic Merry Boys and CLICO Preysal respectively. The other spot in the semi-final line-up will be filled today when the Tile Central Sports chase 194 for five made by Queen’s Park yesterday.
