REIGN OF FIRE galloped herself into the reckoning for the $20,000 optional claiming race on Day 7 of the Arima Race Club season on Saturday. The five-year-old dark bay mare, entered for the 1200 metres race, stepped 600 metres in 39.52 seconds one of the best gallops of the morning yesterday. Another to show some pep in his step was six-year-old Once In A Lifetime, who galloped 400 metres in a morning best time of 24.38 seconds, and must be noted in Saturday’s second race over 1100 metres on the turf course. Three-year-old filly Baby Mass continued to show improvement over 400 metres clocked in 25.21 seconds, and she too must come into the reckoning for West Indies-bred maidens race over 1200 metres. Dancero who does hold an engagement on Saturday, looked good in a 600 metres run in 39.62 seconds. Otherwise yesterday morning, horses were sent out to do pace work and some stables will have their final let-down gallops this morning before race day.
