Deserving East Indians

THE EDITOR: I am in total support of outstanding Indians being honoured as was done recently in India with Basdeo Panday and Ramesh Lawrence Maharaj. My concern is how do they decide who would receive these awards. Mr Panday has proven himself to be an outstanding individual but there are too many question marks in my mind. A lot of us continue to support him blindly and if this is not rectified urgently, the UNC will never get back into office. Clearly, there should be some sort of local input in these awards.
