Concrete food

THE EDITOR: After travelling around the island of Trinidad for the past two months, I was amazed at the amount of construction taking place all over, in particular the housing scheme. I am certain all of these houses cannot be for locals only. Lots of good agricultural land is permanently destroyed. We are becoming like Haiti, the government has destroyed agriculture. What if there were to be some small terrorist attacks that would disrupt shipping temporarily, then all of us here would starve. Look at the absurd prices of food, which go up daily. There is no encouragement in agriculture, only houses and destruction of Trinidad, so I hope that all of us can practise to eat concrete soup or concrete bread in the near future.
