Presentation, P/Town into PowerGen semis

FORMER champions Presentation College, Chaguanas and Princes Town Senior Comprehensive advanced to the PowerGen Secondary Schools Cricket League InterCol semi-finals carded for tomorrow with victories over St Mary’s College and Fatima College respectively. The Lalman Kowlessar-coached Presentation College overpowered the St Mary’s lads by a 91-run margin in their quarter-final match played at Serpentine road ground.


Solid contributions from Anthony O’Garro (51) and Jairaj Dilraj (22) pushed Presentation to 167 all out. In reply, St Mary’s were restricted to 76 for seven off their allotted 30 overs. Meanwhile, National under-19 opener William Perkins and Roger Ransome turned in good performances which saw their school P/Town romp to a comfortable six-wicket victory over Fatima College at Presentation College, Chaguanas ground. Former under-15 national player Clifton Halls topscored for Fatima, which tallied 121 for seven wickets off the 30 overs.


The Ceramic MerryBoys Division One player scored 56. Perkins grabbed two wickets for 17 while Ransome picked up two for 23. Princes Town Senior raced to victory in 23 overs. They were 123 for four wickets with Perkins the topscorer with 34 while Ransome was unbeaten 21. Perkins claimed the Man of the Match award. Rounding off the the semis are Naparima College and Toco Composite.
