Connection seek fourth win
W CONNECTION will be looking to extend their winning streak to four games when they oppose United Petrotrin at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium, Couva from 4 pm today. The ‘Savonetta Boys’ have stamped their authority in the 2005 T&T Pro League season to-date, with a tally of nine goals combined against 2004 winners North East Stars, CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh and Caledonia AIA/Fire. Petrotrin were victorious in their lone game this year, 3-2 over Tobago United, but the ‘Oil Boys’ will be hard-pressed to halt the rampaging Connection attack.
Both teams will each be missing a midfielder due to injury, with Connection’s Ronaldo Viana recovering from a groin strain while Ako James of Petrotrin will be out of action for a month with a damaged instep. Jabloteh and Defence Force will face off simultaneously at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo. Jabloteh, in fifth spot, only have one point after two matches while the Army/Coast Guard combination drew their lone fixture thus far. Jabloteh will welcome enigmatic midfielder Otis Seaton (Aurtis Whitley) from injury and he will certainly play a vital role in today’s contest. One match is carded for tomorrow, with Tobago United hosting Caledonia AIA/Fire at Shaw Park, Scarborough from 6 pm.
