Princes Town in PowerGen InterCol final
NATIONAL under-19 opener William Perkins and all-rounder Jason Samuel led Princes Town Senior Comprehen-sive into the PowerGen Secondary Schools Cricket League InterCol final. The Princes Town lads romped to an emphatic nine-wicket win over Naparima in their semi-final at the Inshan Ali Park, Preysal, on Friday. Naparima, sent in to bat, were skittled out for 95 runs in 20 overs. Only Nathaniel Ramoutar 26 and Javed Mohammed 18 came to grips with the Princes Town bowlers.
Medium pacer Samuels was chief wrecker with four wickets for 20 runs. He was well supported by Jeremy Poliah who claimed three for 18. Perkins, 40 not out, then set about blasting Princes Town to victory, with promising Mark Gangapersad contributing 27. Princes Town reached the winning target in just 17 of their 20 overs. Now Princes Town will meet arch-rivals Presentation, Chaguanas in the final to be played under floodlights at Guaracara Park, Pointe-a-Pierre, on Friday. Presentation made light work of Toco Composite in their semi-final match at the Honeymoon Park, Tunapuna, winning by 93 runs.
