Rebirth hit 150/5 in Tyro windball

REBIRTH, led by Urica “Sister” Rosemond with a brilliant 56, rattled up a mammoth 150 for five wickets in only 12 overs against Cool Running, as action in the Tyro Sports Club Windball Cricket League continued. National batswomen Shane De Silva contributed 23 and Nelly Williams 13, while Kim Benjamin had 13 in the Rebirth total. Replying, Cool Running were restricted to 59 for four wickets, with De Silva taking two wickets for 14 runs, to lead Rebirth to an overwhelming 91-run victory. Sharon Small top-scored with 20 and Natalie Dedier stroked an unbeaten 11 for Cool Running. St Vincent Street scored a comfortable seven-wicket victory over TT Ex-Nationals in another women’s division game.

The Ex-Nationals were kept to 63 for nine wickets by Claudell Waldron who took two for 14, Grace Jodhan two for 14 and Rose Jodhan two for 15. And Jodhan (R) capped a good all-round performance with 17 not out, while Gillian Belfon scored 22 to give St Vincent Street victory. Bescrete scored a double in the men’s division, first beating Unted Progressors by seven wickets, then won by eight wickets over Tyro Under-19s. The Bestcrete lads restricted United Progressors to 53 for nine wickets, then replied with 56 for three, while they kept Tyro Under-19s to 63 for eight and reached 64 for two wickets in just nine overs.
