Time to protect TT’s people

THE EDITOR: I rely on your website to keep up with the local news and every day I am amazed and shocked by the rampant killings and kidnappings that have overtaken sweet Trinidad and Tobago. I used to boast about TT but now I am just speechless. The current story about the murder/rape of this innocent 16-year-old takes the breath out of me. Why isn’t the Government taking fierce action against these crimes? I want to see the people of Trinidad unite and stop this nonsense! How many more innocent people have to be kidnapped, killed, violated, or tortured before someone takes a stand?

Forget about tourism and bragging about TT being a paradise, get together and protect the people. It is not the island but the wonderful people who made Trinidad what it is. Weed out the monsters and let Trinidad be clean and pure once again. Let our children be free to go to school and parents’ conscience be free that their child will return in the afternoon. I am grateful for this website, keep up the great work and stay safe.
