Parkites rally to 312 vs Wanderers

RICARDO PATY and Shakeer Ali staged a magnificent last-wicket partnership of 199 for Queen’s Park on the first day of their final round Carib National Cricket League Division One contest against W Connection Wanderers at the Queen’s Park Oval yesterday. The Parkites were on the ropes on 113 runs for nine wickets before Ali joined skipper Paty to carry the score to 312.

Paty raced to 169, inclusive of 16 fours and four sixes, while Ali chipped in with 29. Wanderers will resume today on three runs for one wicket. Leaders Ceramic Merryboys were dismissed for 214 against CLICO Preysal at the Inshan Ali Park, Preysal. Shazam Babwah returned figures of 4/38 for Preysal while another former national player Aneil Kanhai topscored with 86 for Merryboys. Preysal closed on 113/2.
