Collision mar Tobago Racing
A COLLISION between Ala Mor and Les Remous put a damper on proceedings but in the end, Enzyme and Blazin jumped to the lead at the midway stage of the Racing Class, in the Angostura Tobago Sail Week at Store Bay yesterday. Les Remous came off worse in the collision, with a gash to its left side, while Ala Mor’s front was severely damaged in the crash. Enzyme, with nine points yesterday and Blazin, with six, now have 15 points, two ahead of High Tension Lucozade (nine yesterday) with 17, Storm (11) with 19, Bruggadung II (18) with 24, Bacchanal Woman (eight) with 29, Team McFly (13) with 29, Slippery When Wet (11) with 29, Paulie Wants A Cracker (15) with 33, Brut Force (20) with 35, Wajang (15) with 39, Whistler (28) with 44, Grind It (25) with 49, Ambition Sailing II (29) with 53 and Pump It (27) with 55. With one point gained yesterday, Rapajam joined Wayward atop the standings in the Cruiser-Racer. Both vessels have three points, with Wayward gaining two yesterday. Trailing are reigning champ Petit Careme (three) with six, C-Mos (four) with eight, Aquarela (five) with 10, Joia (six) with 12 and 1st Home (seven) with 14. Hotel California Too remain ahead of the pack in the Cruising Class, with two points after claiming one yesterday. Nirvana is next with four (two yesterday), followed by Business Machine (three) with seven, Blurred Vision (four) with nine and, with 12 points, Sea Wyf (five) and Jump Up (six). Annie T continues to set the pace in the Charter division. The 2004 champ added two points yesterday for a tally of three points, with Team 1955 (one) and Galasminda (three) sharing second position with five. Completing the division are Pooglette II (four) and Inspiration (five) with 10 points, Vindaloo (six) and Monowai (seven) with 14, Saga Boy, who failed to finish yesterday, with 16 points, Carino (eight) with 17, Lauraus (nine) with 19 and, with 22 points, Hienga (10) and Ambition Sailing I (11). Due to its collision with Les Remous, defending Comfort class champ Ala Mor is out of contention, as well as Ana Maria which did not start yesterday’s race.
