Bradshaw happy with Windies Test call-up
BRIDGETOWN, BARBADOS: After a decade earmarked as an international player, all- rounder Ian Bradshaw is happy with his selection to the West Indies team that will play the first Test against Pakistan tomorrow in his native Barbados. The 30-year-old left-arm seamer and batsman has played in 30 one-day internationals since making his belated debut last year at the age of 29. He has been mentioned as a future Test player since he was named captain of the West Indies under-19 team in 1993. "It is great to be selected in a West Indies test squad. I’ve really enjoyed my time representing the West Indies at the one-day level, but the five-day cricket is the real test," Bradshaw said on Monday night. "The exposure that I’ve gotten playing one-day cricket has really excited me about the prospect of one day playing in a Test match," he added. Bradshaw gained international recognition in September when he and Courtney Browne combined for an unbroken and match-winning stand as the West Indies won the Champions Trophy against England. It was the West Indies’ first international trophy since they won the World Cup in 1979.
