Police arrest 65 suspects


SIXTY-FIVE people were arrested Friday during a police exercise in the South Western Division.


The exercise took place from 3 am to noon and was led by Sen Supt Nimrod, ASP Jemmot and supported by Ag Insp Wells, Sgt Denoon, Ag Sgt Flanders, Cpls Minors and Straker, along with PCs Ramdass and Boodlal and officers from the Siparia CID and Task Force. Six persons were arrested for narcotics, including a man for trafficking marijuana and another for possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. The others were held on outstanding warrants.


All are expected to appear before a Siparia magistrate on Tuesday.
